Paradise Row Places: The Old Blue Last
Located in the heart of Shoreditch and owned by the incredible Vice magazine, The Old Blue Last is a great place for a lively night out. It is also one of the few places that hold free live music performances by underground UK artists.
The atmosphere here builds throughout the night. Early evenings are a low-key affair with light chatter and quiet background music. As the night continues, more punters arrive creating an exciting buzz in the air. A live room with a bar is up on the second floor and it wouldn’t be surprising to find a packed out room when artists perform.
The interior follows traditional pub design with a few modern twists, such as animated texidermy adorning the walls and neon signs. The main bar is pushed back in the corner and offers the usual set of bar drinks including premium lagers and craft ales. In the far corner off the main floor, a dimly lit lounge room and a glowing photo booth create an alluring atmosphere.
Performances at The Old Blue Last vary on a diverse spectrum of genres including rock, house, alternative R&B and urban music. Some of the biggest names have entered through the doors from the likes of Tory Lanez, Arctic Monkeys, Charli XCX, Lily Allen, Hot Chip and Simian Mobile Disco and Diplo, to name a few. Leaving a promising platform for new talent to excel.
Whether its a relaxing pint, a catch up with friends or a night out up in the Live room, The Old Blue Last caters for all making it one of East London's key nightlife destinations. Check out The Old Blue Last online for upcoming gigs and more.
